Historic 'Hoods Bowling: Paradise Palms vs. Huntridge

For the third year in a row Paradise Palms met up with our friends and neighbors to the north, Huntridge, to square off and battle it out on the lanes of Sam's Town for bragging rights of best Historic 'Hood.

As usual the bowling alley snack bar and liquor bar was immediately swamped with  thirsty and hungry Palmers & Huntridgians seeking nourishment to carry them through the night. It was a strong showing from each neighborhood, but the biggest turn out by far was by the Paradise Palms Drinking Team, who destroyed more pitchers of Rolling Rock than we could count.

The high score of the night goes to Palmer Dan C., who scored a 219 the second game and a 138 the first game. We should mention that Dan also scored an elusive 4-bagger - four stikes in a row - way to go Dan!

The high scorer for Huntridge was The Duder, who scored a 114, followed by The Dude, who scored a 106. We probably should mention that we usually go by nicknames in bowling...

In the end, the highest average score went to Paradise Palms, with a 115, while Huntridge walked away with an 81. To mend any sore feelings, The Huntridgians joined the Palmers at our favorite hangout Champagnes for some after bowling drinks and mediocre karaoke. Despite the enormous gap in scores, a fun time was had by all, and Paradise Palms thanks Huntridge for joining us for a fun night out. Hope to see you again next year!
